We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and experienced associate immigration attorney to work with our team to represent immigrants before the USCIS, Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals and Federal District and Appellate Courts.
The position is primarily remote with flexible work hours, with in-person appearances primarily in San Francisco (and occasionally Santa Clara and Sacramento) for USCIS interviews and Immigration Court hearings. We offer career-building work experience with potential for advancement and growth.
The job entails:
Working directly with clients to obtain information to prepare applications, take detailed declarations, determine appropriate and available evidence and develop arguments for asylum, hardship waivers, extraordinary ability visas and other immigration applications.
Preparing and filing applications with USCIS and Immigration Court
Preparing clients for USCIS interviews and court appearances and representing them at their USCIS interviews and court hearings.
Drafting trial and appellate briefs, and prehearing statements.
Managing a caseload, including deadlines, client communications and workflows.
The ideal candidate will have:
A Bar License from any U.S. State (required)
2-4 years of immigration attorney experience
Excellent written, listening and oral communication skills
Strong collaborative skills - our office works as a team
Ability to shift and manage priorities and deadlines in a high volume, dynamic practice
Facility with technology, including case management, document automation, and internal and external communication tools
